I thought I could just write about stuff and it would automatically be good.
I used to write papers in school with one draft.
Boom-boom-boom, done...let me proof read yours now.
I'm mostly starting a blog because I don't like to journal. It hurts my hand
and I can't/don't read what I have written after I have written it.
My revelation for today is that the Gospel can defend itself.
I have spent tons of time trying to defend God. It won't work.
No matter who it is, someone will argue with about whether or not
God is God. They'll argue about the Bible, they'll try to tell you there's good
and bad in everything. They'll try to make you feel stupid for what you believe.
We, as people who believe Jesus is who he says he is, need to first and
foremost be examples of what the Bible says to be.
How can we expect whoever it is we're conversing with to do something we're not?
I'm not saying that we shouldn't speak truth. Whatever we say, as long as we're
true to what the Bible preaches, will resonate and the Holy Spirit will use it.
Be bold, speak what you think. There are too many christ followers who are
afraid to talk about what they believe in. I'm including myself. (I try to speak
those things that aren't as if they are, it helps me)
I want to be clear here, apologetics is very important. There is absolutely
nothing wrong with having a discussion about God, lots of people do it.
Just remember that if someone is coming against you with a strong and
seemingly sound argument, you have the upper hand! You can just ask
the Holy Spirit what to say and it will ALWAYS be something that the
other person needs to hear. Gods word can defend itself. God can make
people love Him, He's the ONLY one who can. He turns hearts
toward him, He makes their hearts ready. We merely step in and take the
tangible role as His hands and feet. Don't feel stupid for not having the
perfect response to someones impossible question. Remember that God
is using you, even if you can't quite remember which guy went on top
of that mountain to pray for rain or why.
Too many people get SO down on themselves for screwing up a
conversation with someone, or not having a comeback. Everyone
wishes they would have had that perfect response, the one that leads
people to crying and repenting on the floor. We all want that.
Gods Word can stand on its own. You didn't accidentally make
someone hate God. You didn't say the wrong thing and now that
person's going to hell.
That wasn't as hard as I thought.
I do feel strange though, I think it's just because I am still walking
out of living a life full of the fear of man. What if someone leaves
a mean comment?! oh no, my social life is OVER.
On that note, goodnight.
